Today we saw Gerald Jones (MP for Merthyr and Rhymney).
He works in the Houses of Parliament, Westminster in London.0
He listens to people’s views in his constituency and takes that to Westminster to discuss with other MP’s.
When Gerald was younger he enjoyed talking in school and was a member of the School Council, he later did lots of volunteer work and enjoys representing other people.
The children asked Gerald lots of Questions, he told us he usually travels back and fore to London by car and mostly spends Fridays in his constituency.

Last week we all met Clinton Purnell, he is gymnastics Welsh Champion five years in a row and he has also represented Wales at the Commonwealth games in Glasgow. Last year he was injured and could not defend his Welsh Champions Title. He talked to the children about his training and his future career. He also demonstrated some gymnastics moves; he even flipped and tumbled over members of staff and pupils.
I have learnt to be a good gymnast you have to work and train extremely hard and to never give up! He has always been passionate about gymnastics and tried his best.
In the future Clinton would like to be a stuntman. He has already been on TV in Ninja Warriors and has completed some stunt work in programmes such as Gavin and Stacey.
We enjoyed the exercises he did with all the children, (Spotty Dogs, Mountain Climbs, Press Ups and Star Jumps)
